My name is James, I’m a married male in my early 30s and I live in southern Maine. I have been passionate about politics for my entire adult life. This blog is my opinions and response to Maine and Federal politics.
I am against blind allegiance to the two party system, and I think each and every policy we discuss, every change we intend to make, and every political belief we have needs to be rooted in truth and consistency, regardless of the person’s party. You might be able to guess how I feel about a majority of issues along party lines, but I guarantee I’ve got a few whoppers that contradict the norms.
I have many criticisms of my own party, and I am always seeking out common ground from the other side of the aisle. I try my best to escape the echo chamber in search for facts and truths that are against my preconceived notions, so my opinions can change – rather than simply finding out sources that tell me what I want to hear. I don’t ‘flip flop’ but my opinions and beliefs definitely change when I’m given enough facts to force me to do so. In our current political climate, that feels pretty rare.
In addition my own thoughts, you’ll occasionally see guest-bloggers or written email interviews with candidates for elected positions.

If you’ve read this far, then read one more thing: All opinions on this blog are solely my own and are not representative of anyone else. No matter how wonderfully insightful and amazing these views and blogs are, they’re only mine. MINE! (Okay, unless it’s a guest blogger or an interview, then it’s their opinions.)
